Parent and Carer PSHE morning: Saturday 3rd September

In the school's inaugural PSHE morning, over 80 parents and carers enjoyed a variety of relevant and informative sessions led by a range of presenters. All parents and carers of the students were invited to attend two sessions from the following:

Drugs (Led by Fiona Spargo-Mabbs on behalf of The Daniel Spargo-Mabbs foundation)

E-safety ( Led by Stephen Welding, Sutton councils e-safety adviser)

Teenage Challenges (Led by Learning support assistants and parents of former JFS students, Marion Lambert and Sharon Barton)

Mental Health and Well Being (Led by Founder of the in school mental health charity, 'The Talk Easy Trust'.)

Sex and Relationships (Led by Deacon Tony Flavin the schools spiritual life co-coordinator)

With such experienced and knowledgeable presenters, it wasn't a surprise to hear such positive comments from those who attended. We hope all those who came left with a better understanding of how they could support their son with the challenges they may face and we look forward to seeing even more at our next event in early 2017.  We are interested to hear from any parents/carers who have suggestions of future topics they wished to be covered. Please email Mr. Evans (Head of PSHE and MFL) directly on

Mr A Dean
