Winners of the Jack Petchey Speak Out Competition

09 Mar 2016

On Monday 7th March twenty five Year 10 students were given the opportunity to receive public speaking training from an external trainer provided by the Jack Petchey Foundation.  The students spent the day in the LRC learning the art of public speaking by focusing on their body language, how to structure speeches and hook an audience with interesting content.  In the afternoon the boys were in competition with each other to produce the best two minute speech on a topic of their choice.  Joseph Ayers, Dermot Clancy, Daniel Exact and Sam Aboagye-Kodjoe  were awarded 'Highly Commended'  for their speeches and Nathan Tambini was runner up.  However, our winner for this year is Jeffrey Owusu (right in picture.) He will now go through to the regional final at Stanley Park High School on the 15th March.  The final starts at 6.30pm and everyone is welcome.  It would be great if we could get lots of supporters to come along and cheer Jeffrey on!
