Amazing news as last year's 1st XV second row Kieran Treadwell, who is now a full time professional rugby player at Harlequins, has been selected in the England U20 Six Nations Squad and starts against Wales on Saturday evening. This is a fantastic achievement for Kieran and we would like to wish him all the very best of luck.

Sixth-formers, Tom Willis and Liam Cavanagh led assemblies each morning last week to every year group in our school about their experience of visiting the Nazi extermination camp of Auschwitz last year. Their assemblies, held in our school chapel, were followed by prayers for the victims of the Holocaust and all other genocides.

John Fisher's senior rugby squad were invited to take part in BT Sports Rugby Tonight show on Monday. It was a fantastic experience for the boys and their coaches as this year's season draws to a close. Meeting stars such as Austin Healy and Ben Kay was a real bonus for the boys who also had the opportunity to take part in a demonstration training session in front of the cameras.

This week the updated John Fisher School Prayer Book is being distributed to every boy and teacher at our school. At assemblies this week each boy will be presented with their personal copy of this new prayer book, and we are particularly pleased that both Bishop Paul and Bishop Howard are with us on two of these occasions.

Bishop Howard, a John Fisher Old Boy, is pictured here with Year 9 pupils.

This week we launched Show My Homework to pupils and parents at The John Fisher School, a free to use online tool that shows all of our boy’s homework and deadlines.

As part of the initial phasing in of this new scheme parents can start to check what homework has been set for their sons by visiting our school’s website homepage, where they can log-in to Show My Homework.
