The John Fisher Association (JFA) is comprised of every parent/carer and member of staff at The John Fisher School who have automatic membership. Ex-members are also welcome to help! The JFA is a registered charity, and undertakes activities which contribute financially and socially to the school.
We are all aware of the ever increasing squeeze on school budgets. Without the fundraising efforts of the JFA, the school would struggle to maintain its resources and activities. In 2020 the JFA helped fund the development of the school website, supported subject leaders with new resources for students to use, provided ongoing funds to help maintain the school minibuses and raised £20,000 through a 'Funding Fisher's Future' initiative to provide I.T. hardware for disadvantaged students during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The JFA needs your support and involvement!
There are many ways to help:
Via linked online shopping, via corporate matchfunding, collecting garden centre vouchers, helping at events or joining the organising Committee. If you have a skill or trade that the JFA could use please let us know. See attached factsheet for more information.
The biggest event of the JFA year is the school fete, traditionally held on the first Bank Holiday in May. This year the date is fixed for Sunday 6th May, details to follow shortly. It takes many volunteers to deliver the event.
The AGM took place on Wednesday 21st October 2020.

Without a Committee to discuss activities, plan and organise events and co-ordinate our volunteers the JFA wouldn’t exist. We are always recruiting - all JFA members are invited to join. We meet formally a minimum of once per term. See here for a copy of our last minutes. If you have an idea for ways to raise funds we’d love to hear from you!
We all have busy lives but pooling your help and skills with the JFA is a great way to really benefit our school and take an active part in our community.
