SEND Welcome

The John Fisher School is constantly working to improve its systems and approaches to encourage aspiration and provides students with the support to achieve better outcomes, helping them strive to be the best they can be.

The aims of our SEND policy and practice in relation to special educational needs and disability in this school are:

•  To make reasonable adjustments for those with a disability by taking action to increase access to the curriculum, the environment and to printed information for all.

•  To ensure that students with SEN engage in the activities of the school alongside students who do not have SEN.

•  To reduce barriers to progress by embedding the principles in the National Curriculum Inclusion statement.

As we go through the process of developing and redefining our systems we seek a co-operative, supportive partnership with parents/carers, the LA and Outside Agencies and Specialists to promote an ethos of attainment for all students.

Our SEND policy and SEND offer outline systems and approaches that the school will take to identify and to address barriers to learning and emotional support, our focus on high quality teaching, improving outcomes for individual students, deploying the best staff to support students; and setting high aspirations and raising attainment.

If you have any questions or queries, please email Mrs Hall, SENCo at k.hall@johnfisherschool.org
